A NOSTALGIC BREWERY

The first Highlander Beer was brewed in 1910. Surviving the closure of prohibition, Highlander flourished in Montana and neighboring states up until the brewery closed its doors in 1964. The Highlander name has now been resurrected as a vibrant brewery in picturesque Missoula, Montana. Highlander has a rich tradition of colorful labels and nostalgic marketing materials, many of which are now on display in their TapHouse.

At the Whiskey Ginger, we were humbled to be a part of the new wave of designs. We created classic illustrations inspired by vintage fruit crates, wildlife, and burly mountain men. We then paired the art with lettering that gave a nod to the original can designs from the early 20th century.

CHEERS!

“The Whiskey Ginger Has Been Wonderful To Work With. Loni And Brett Aided Our Brewery In A Complete Re-Branding Of Our Packaged Product, Which Has Been Extremely Popular With Our Customers And Distributors. The Creativity From The Whiskey Ginger Is Unmatched. They Bring Unique Design Concepts To The Table That Separate Us From Our Competition, And Makes Us Standout In The Market Place.”

A VIBRANT ATMOSPHERE

We love the colorful, whimsical vibe at the modern day Highlander Brewery. The Whiskey Ginger worked to capture that energy in their label art. These cans now have one of the largest distributions in the state of Montana. Here are a few of our favorite photos taken by the great folks at Highlander Brewery.

SEASONAL DESIGNS

We first started working with Highlander Brewery in 2016 when we were brought in to create seasonal designs for their Autumn brews. Here’s a little throwback to the earlier work:
